"Talkstory" is the Debut album from Oakland-based songwriter & guitarist Jon Andrews, which features 10 original songs accompanied by Brian Belardi (Drums & Percussion) & Joel Strait (Bass Guitar). The album was recorded & mixed primarily at Sharkbite Studio in Historic Jack London Square (Oakland CA) by Scott McChane between June, 2015 & April 2017. The band recorded additional material with engineer Chris Hughes at the helm at SAE Expression College (Emeryville CA).

About the title, "Talkstory":
In Hawaiian culture, the concept of "Talkstory" refers to the equivalent of "shooting the shit" or sharing stories of unverified origin.

About the artwork:
On a family trip to Hawaii in the early '90s, I watched a plane fly into a bar - "The Talkstory Bar" attached to a resort on the Big Island. I had the wherewithal to take pictures of the aftermath. Amazingly, no-one was injured in the crash (or in the process of making this record). As for "the dog on the roof"... thank you to Nicole Churchill-Yip for capturing that bizarre moment in all it's glory!
